Filling Your Home With News

Just as what you put in your mouth affects your health and well-being, so does what you put into your home environment, even the news you are consuming on TV and your devices that fill your home with messages.

The medical director of the Well Living Lab recommends that you stay informed during the COVID-19 pandemic but don’t oversaturate yourself with news and information. Do you really need the TV running in the background while you are working? Do you need to repeatedly listen to what you already heard?

Make sure that you are informed by reliable resources: In the U.S., obtain the material from the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Visit www.cdc.gov. Mayo Clinic is another good source (collaborator of the Well Living Lab with wellness real estate leader Delos) You can follow Mayo Clinic’s public information here: Mayo Clinic News Network.

We at the Well Living Lab also encourage you to pay attention to the good stories coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stories of people helping people. Stories of businesses contributing to the greater good. So much of our society is finding innovative ways to make a positive difference. Discuss them, share them, fill your living space with optimism. It’s uplifting during a difficult time.
